Where’s the love for the atheist? Calling all Atheist and other view points!?

I’m christian, and i’m noticing a lot of my atheist friend’s are always somewhat mistreated their automatically labeled as sacrilegious ignorant misfits. Doomed to be damned! I don’t see it that way, i find it as taking a risk, it’s a decision they made for themselves. Now why can’t we leave it at that? Let it be..I’m fourteen and noticed a lot of good conversation’s are ruined with arguments about religion :/

Good rule to live by, “I won’t judge you if you don’t judge me”

I agree. I love debate, but the trolling here in R&S kind of ruins any fun debate. And it’s sad that at the end of the day we can’t all put it behind us and realize we all have more in common, than not.

    I don’t know about misfits…

But they definitely are sacrilegious… I wouldn’t call them ignorant, I’d say they are blinded by their own pride.

atheists wouldn’t even know what to do with love.

Thanks… I’ll take that as a vote of confidence. Maybe we do know what we are doing and why we are doing it… and if it helps… We love you too.

It’s great that you have such a positive mindset. The thing is that the U.S is mostly religious, and anything that doesn’t fall in with the crowd is seen as negative and wrong, and is occasionally rejected and avoided.

See what I mean, look what Jimmy wrote…

Because people cannot accept others. Some people, I should say.

Some Christians think they are doing us a favor by “bringing us to God”.

No, they really are not doing me a favor, sorry.
Glad to see someone who can accept other viewpoints.
    Right on!

    Thank you Billy.

It is only a risk. Besides, if you think about it, every person who is religious is also at risk that they are worshipping the wrong god anyway. They treat all other religions and gods as false. All I’m doing is going one step further. I could care less what someone thinks about the afterlife, just give me respect in this one and I’d be sure to give you more than plenty in return.

Which is exactly what Christ would condemn, that’s a good point to bring up whenever you hear someone putting someone else down because of their beliefs. He said Love one another and meant it. If we all respect and tolerate one another the world would be wonderful !!

  10. I'M HUMAN says:

Good conversations have good arguments. A good thing to do in a conversation is to first seek to understand the other person’s point of view and than to express your self in a way to be understood. All this is done with respect.

  11. VAL says:

How is using your intelligence taking a risk. No offense but an omnipotent being + free will = Oxymoron. The two things are mutually exclusive.

It would not matter how much free will you think you’d have to change your lot, you would not be able to change a thing if the outcome of everything is already known.

Life would be like a cart without a horse to pull it… predetermined and pointless.

It is no risk to use logic to discriminate between real possibility and drivel. ;)

Religion is fairy stories, nothing more. That is why it ruins conversations, there you are thinking you are going to have a decent conversation, and someone bring up the giant invisible sky fairy, guaranteed to silence and stunt any sensible conversation.

to be atheist or to be christian or moslem is a human right so i think its up to them
im moslem …….ex christian living in penssylvania but i respect atheist
because its their right to choose their faith
    oke ???

I can see why you would see it as taking a risk, because you are probably in the mindset I was in when I was 14. I pretty much believed in God, basically because everyone else seemed to, but some small part of me wondered if it was all a load of crap, although I was nowhere near brave enough to admit that to anyone, not even myself, at age 14. So I would have definitely seen atheism as taking a risk. A respectable, admirable risk, but still, a risk.

However, you’ll probably see as you grow up, based on your obvious ability to see things for what they are and rationalize, that there is absolutely no reasonable basis for the claims made by the Christian religion, and honestly, it doesn’t make much rational sense at all.

  14. NORMOBRIAN says:

If you are a Christian, your religion doesn’t allow you to ‘leave it at that’. You are required to proselytize (convert) them or not associate with them. Unbelievers will poison your soul and doom you to eternal damnation, which is where they are going. There is no compromise in Christianity. By letting a sinner be, you are a sinner, yourself.

Atheism is no different than murder, rape, lechery, envy, etc. If you would let a pedophile be, then you would surely burn in Hell. Christianity regards atheists much more harshly than pedophiles.

You can’t have it both ways; you can’t be of this world and spiritual at the same time. Witches, Jews, and heretics were burned at the stake because that is what Christianity demands. If they will not repent here on Earth, you must render them unto God for judgment. If you cannot do that, then you aren’t a Christian.

If you find that a harsh stance, then, perhaps you should examine what Christianity means. You really can’t be of this world, with a laissez-faire attitude, and still be a Christian. Jesus was not a liberal.

  15. TURTLELADY says:

a lot of Atheist sure like to hang out in the religion category bashing God though don’t they?
If they don’t believe in God why do they hate him so much?
People should be judged by how they treat others, not by what they believe. (judged by others that is, Only God can can judge the heart & soul of a person)
It is not very Christian like to to judge others. Nor is it polite to make fun of God .
any way just in case they should show some respect even if they don’t believe.

you can’t force anyone to believe what you believe, and you sure don’t win them over by threatening them.
    name calling just shows immaturity.
